THIGH LIFTING

THIGH LIFTING

The thigh lift is an ideal cosmetic surgery technique to restore a youthful, fresh and toned appearance to the legs by eliminating and removing the excess skin tissue located mainly in the internal portion. The surgical intervention  allows to completely remove pads of fat and put the skin in traction; the legs return to the youthful morphology that has been lost over time, firm, longer and slender and when the thigh lift is combined with liposuction surgery, their profile and appearance is even more slender.

The skin of the legs is characterized by a completely different elasticity than that of other areas of the body; that is why laser, radiofrequency, and ultrasound treatments that have the secondary effect of blocking the production of elastin (the spring produced by the skin that allows the elastic return of the skin after the traction of the skin) tend at first to improve the quality of the skin but subsequently lengthen it.

The thigh lift is not to be considered exclusively as a treatment of obesity; on the contrary, thanks to experience and recent techniques, the results are surprising and admirable even in people who are of regular weight but whose genetic component or whose laser and radiofrequency treatments have accelerated skin loss. There is nothing in the world that can turn back skin once it has stretched except surgery.

Those who undergo thigh lift surgery manifest such a noticeable change at the level of rejuvenation that it brings them to a very high degree of satisfaction, and they can go back to showing them off and wearing short dresses that they have ended up depriving themselves of.

The achievement of expectations is the result of the relationship that the Surgeon and the patient establish from the first visit: at the Mattia Colli Aesthetic Surgery Center, surgical interventions are planned with reliable and real results; in the event of not being able to promise the desired result, the surgeon will reserve the right to resort to the help of additional techniques to achieve the goal.

And that’s not all. Satisfaction and appreciation for the results obtained is constantly monitored even in the years following the surgical intervention . The possibility of having a direct testimony from patients on their experience makes the Mattia Colli Aesthetic Surgery Center unique, you can compare directly to know satisfactions, clarify any doubts and find the necessary motivations.

The patients who come to the Aesthetic Surgery Center in Milan to meet Dr. Mattia Colli come from all over the world. To reduce waiting times you can get an online consultation. An online consultation will give the patient the opportunity to meet the surgeon and establish the confidence needed for a successful surgical intervention.

The relaxation of the skin of the thighs is characterized by sagging tissue and little toning especially at the level of the inner part of the legs. The lifting of the thighs, eliminating excess skin and tensioning the skin to restore the desired tone, involves the excision of a portion of tissue and the scar in the groin fold.

There is nothing in the world that can bring the skin back except surgery.

The trust that our patients place in us  is always rewarded with the surgical results performed;  very often several surgical methods are combined to achieve the desired result.

THIGH LIFTING
— WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE SURGERY

THIGH LIFTING – PREPARATION FOR SURGERY

Before the thigh lift surgery, all the blood and ECG tests listed and proposed during the first visit must be carried out. In all clinical cases, tailor-made garments are designed for each patient that have the function of exerting an elastic force on the entire leg up to the ankle.

Numerous pre-operative images will be made for the planning of an increasingly personalized therapeutic path.

Any pharmacological therapies in place (in particular with cortisone, contraceptives, anti-hypertensives, cardioactives, anticoagulants, hypoglycemizers, antibiotics, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, stimulants), homeopathic and phytopathic therapies and possible allergies to antibiotics and drugs in general must be reported. At least 2 weeks before surgery you should stop taking medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid (such as Aspirin, Cemirit, Vivin C, Ascriptin, Bufferin, Alka-Seltzer, etc …) With regard to the possible intake of substances such as low molecular weight heparin, the possible suspension should be properly discussed with the Surgeon.

At least 2 weeks before it is recommended to stop smoking, which negatively affects the healing processes.

The day before surgery or even better the morning itself, a thorough washing of the private parts and groin folds should be performed, nail polish should be removed from the fingernails and cosmetics from the face.

THIGH LIFTING – MEDICAL SURGICAL EXAMINATION

The surgeon visits the patient highlighting the skin area and adipose tissue to be eliminated in order to put in traction and redistribute tone to the whole leg. He then focuses on the groin crease to make the incision at the most hidden point possible, that is, within the groin crease.

At the Mattia Colli Aesthetic Surgery Center, the patient is listened to in order to develop an operating program of the highest professionalism in which the characteristics of the desired result are indicated. The surgeon in addition to expressing in detail responds to all the doubts expressed by the patient.

If the patient’s expectations regarding the result sought by the surgical intervention  are not realistic, the procedure will absolutely not be performed.

THIGH LIFTING – INFORMED CONSENT

When the patient has clarified all doubts and decides to have thigh lift surgery, he or she is guided in filling out the informed consent document, which is drafted according to his or her clinical case.

THIGH LIFTING – CLINICAL INVESTIGATIONS

The patient must carry out the clinical examinations prescribed by the Surgeon to certify and demonstrate the suitability of the state of health for the total safety and tranquility of the patient, which must always be the first concern. In the event that any pathologies are discovered or the examinations record abnormalities, it will be the surgeon’s concern to inform about the state of health and to be able to plan the surgical intervention  with other anesthesiological techniques to avoid any risk related to them.

THIGH LIFTING – HOSPITALIZATION OF THE PATIENT

The patient is admitted in the morning fasting from midnight the night before. The preoperative program is again reviewed and validated a second time, as are the clinical examinations (double check). The patient is prepared in his or her own dedicated room, and when everything is ready, he or she is transferred to the operating block.

THIGH LIFTING
— SURGERY

The thigh lift surgery is carried out through an incision localized at the level of the groin fold, the tissues are unglued and lifted, pulled and once put into tension the excess skin tissue is eliminated.

Careful suturing at a very deep level on a bony anatomical plane allows the scar to result exactly along the natural groin crease.

THIGH LIFTING
— POST-OPERATIVE

The goal of the thigh lift is to completely change the appearance of flabby, fat thighs to a flat, pulled, and toned appearance typical of youthful thighs. The goal requires not only high-level surgical techniques but also a very careful postoperative period the first week after surgery.

The day after surgery it will be normal to see the area of the inner thigh and also the edematous and bruised genital parts. All appropriate medications and prescriptions for the postoperative course will be provided.

The surgery does not cause any painful symptoms, and in cases where the pain threshold is very low, only a discomfort due to dressings and not to surgery is reported: this is because the sutures that support the main tension are made in very deep regions whose bone plane is not innervated, the nerves are therefore preserved and are not traumatized.

The area of the inner thigh should not be put into tension for the first few days and the patient will have to maintain a body posture with straight legs avoiding violent openings (excessive traction on fresh tissues in the process of healing and healing could open the surgical wound) or folding inside (excessive posture with the legs closed inwards moves the dressings brings the skin flaps in healing one above the top favoring the maceration of the tissues  and their openness). The dressings will be changed by the surgeon and his team for the first 10 days. The procedure creates a certain degree of swelling and the presence of bruising at the level of the pubic area is absolutely normal (fluids for gravity tend to reach the low point running from the other down).

After the second week in healing the abdominal area will manifest less edema and already with a harmonious appearance.

THIGH LIFTING SCAR

At the Mattia Colli Center for Aesthetic Surgery, great importance is placed on the scar, which must be as thin and hidden within undergarments as possible. Precisely because the scar must support the entire traction of the leg, special sutures with different surgical threads allow on the one hand to effectively hold the traction even long after the date of the operation.

At the Mattia Colli Center for Aesthetic Surgery, we tend to abandon the old surgical techniques that involved a scar that ended from the inner thigh down to the level of the anterior iliac crest (mid-leg) precisely because it is not necessary for traction of the thigh skin. All folds are studied in detail so that tissue traction can best be planned with a fully customized preoperative program.

At the Mattia Colli Aesthetic Surgery Center, thigh lifts are envied and admired for their high scars, completely hidden inside the groin fold and inside the undergarments.

During the first months in healing the scar will have a reddish color while in the following months it will tend to fade and become white.

THIGH LIFT — RESULTS

lifting-cosce-risultati

The firming and tonicity that complete healing allows patients who have had thigh lift surgery to observe is extraordinary; once the period of tissue settling and complete healing is over, the permanent result makes the legs look longer and slimmer, especially if liposuction surgery was also performed beforehand, which allows the area of the inner thigh to be emptied and its traction increased.
