CALF AUGMENTATION

MYOPLASTICS – MAN

Myoplasty is the surgery that corrects calf defects, seeking to restore proportion to the lateral/medial calf muscles and harmoniously slender the body. Dr. Mattia Colli ranks as the best in performing this surgery, useful for perfecting the leg, in line with the body. The Surgeon and the patient undertake the operative course together, from the first visit to the postoperative, agreeing from the beginning on the modalities of the operation.

In a man, the calves are a fundamental part of the body, and in case the results are different from expectations, it will be the doctor’s task to use new techniques to achieve the goal.

MYOPLASTY – CALF AUGMENTATION – WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE SURGERY

Patients referred to Dr. Mattia Colli will be required to have tests and ECGs prescribed by the Surgeon during the first visit. Sheaths are designed that will be applied at the end of the operation. Each patient enjoys a personalized surgical plan based on the patient’s physical characteristics. Each patient, during their medical history, will have to explain to the Surgeon any current therapies related to the desired result. Conversely, the Surgeon will construct an ad hoc operative planning, laying out the mode of surgery and answering the patient’s concerns.

It is the physician’s job to prescribe the tests to be performed to verify the suitability of the patient’s health status and to be able to plan the surgery with specific anesthesia and drug treatment.

ANESTHESIA

The patient will have to fast from midnight the day before the surgery of myoplasty and all check-ups will be performed before being transferred to the operating table.

At Dr. Mattia Colli’s, general anesthesia is not performed to avoid any dangers related to it and a type of local or intravenous anesthesia is adopted that will allow the patient to return to normal social life immediately after the surgery.

SURGERY INTERVENTION

The surgery involves the insertion of small, silicone-based cohesive gel prostheses at a specific point to achieve a perfect angle. For calf augmentation, the best solutions are implants, and Dr. Mattia Colli uses only the latest generation of materials, texturized to avoid any post-operative problems.

The surgery involves an initial phase that results in a 3-4 cm incision to allow the Surgeon to insert a fat pad. The incision will be made at the height of the fold of the popliteal cord making it invisible after the operation.

The second phase involves creating space for the insertion of the fat pad.

The third and final stage, however, is to close the apex with suture threads. It is necessary for the patient to rest for a long time, because the sutures stimulate an internal circulation. After surgery, the patient will be cared for with the latest sterile bands and gauze that will allow normal circulation.

CALF VOLUME AUGMENTATION – MAN: POSTOPERATIVE

Following myoplasty surgery, it is normal to see the anatomical part swollen. It will be the Surgeon’s responsibility to treat the area with targeted medications and antibiotic treatment to prevent any post-operative infections.

The patient will not have to use restraining socks, but rather sheaths of the latest generation.

As early as 24 hours after myoplasty surgery, the patient will be able to see an enlargement of the calves, although still edematous and swollen. It is necessary for the patient to walk on the sole of the foot and not on the toe to avoid damage to the scar due to muscle contraction. After only 2 weeks, the patient will be able to resume normal walking.
