CALF AUGMENTATION — MAN: PREPARATION FOR MYOPLASTY SURGERY
The patient will have to fast from midnight the day before myoplasty surgery and all check-ups will be performed before being transferred to the operating table.
At Dr. Mattia Colli’s, general anesthesia is not performed to avoid any dangers associated with it, and a type of local or intravenous anesthesia is adopted that will allow the patient to return to normal social life immediately after surgery.
BEFORE AND AFTER MYOPLASTY SURGERY
INFORMED CONSENT
Once the patient has clarified all doubts and decides to have myoplasty surgery, they are guided in completing the informed consent document drafted according to their clinical case.
ANESTHESIA
The patient will have to fast from midnight the day before the surgery of myoplasty and all check-ups will be performed before being transferred to the operating table.

SURGERY INTERVENTION
The surgery involves the insertion of small, silicone-based cohesive gel prostheses at a specific point to achieve a perfect angle. For calf augmentation, the best solutions are implants, and Dr. Mattia Colli uses only the latest generation of materials, texturized to avoid any post-operative problems.
The surgery involves an initial phase that results in a 3-4 cm incision to allow the Surgeon to insert a fat pad. The incision will be made at the height of the fold of the popliteal cord making it invisible after the operation.
The second phase involves creating space for the insertion of the fat pad.
The third and final stage, however, is to close the apex with suture threads. It is necessary for the patient to rest for a long time, because the sutures stimulate an internal circulation. After surgery, the patient will be cared for with the latest sterile bands and gauze that will allow normal circulation.
CALF VOLUME AUGMENTATION – MAN: POSTOPERATIVE
Following myoplasty surgery, it is normal to see the anatomical part swollen. It will be the Surgeon’s responsibility to treat the area with targeted medications and antibiotic treatment to prevent any post-operative infections.
The patient will not have to use restraining socks, but rather sheaths of the latest generation.
As early as 24 hours after myoplasty surgery, the patient will be able to see an enlargement of the calves, although still edematous and swollen. It is necessary for the patient to walk on the sole of the foot and not on the toe to avoid damage to the scar due to muscle contraction. After only 2 weeks, the patient will be able to resume normal walking.
